We are based on Limpopo River Lodge in the Central Tuli Block, and from Reception, an easy 5 km drive brings you to the lodge on the Limpopo River. Nestled under a thick canopy of riverine forest, eternally shaded from the African sun you have a choice of sleeping in rondavels with outside bathrooms, or chalets with a bathroom shared between 2 couples.
Each chalet or rondavel is beautifully appointed with very comfortable beds, stunning linen, ceiling fans and African themed décor. The rondavels and chalets are large and roomy, each with a view of the river and all have electricity.
Private viewing decks allow guests to enjoy the fascinating secrets of the wildlife that visits the surrounding river.
A swimming pool is available for guests to use on those long, hot summer days.
Rondavels 1 and 4 each have their own outdoor kitchen /dining area equipped with 2-plate gas cooker, fridge / freezer and crockery and cutlery. Rondavels 2 and 3, and Chalets 2 and 3 each have shared outdoor kitchen /dining areas with fridge / freezer, ice-maker, gas stove and all crockery and cutlery as well as a bar area. Camp attendants light a fire for you each evening and ensure you have everything you need and that your stay is relaxing and special. Judi and Helena provide delicious home-cooked meals and cakes. All you need to bring is your drinks.
Game drives are conducted twice a day by our Professional Guide.
One of the highlights of your stay in Tuli is the wonderful sounds. In summer the roaring of the river and in winter the pre-dawn of bird songs starts of the morning. Maybe you will hear the haunting cries of the Fish Eagle, Baboons bark and screech and Hippo’s grunt. If you listen carefully you may hear the ‘sawing’ noise of a nearby leopard as he goes about his evening business.
Finally, get to sleep under the soothing call of the “Scops Owl”.
